What Are You Thinking?

Everything you have or don’t have in your life is a result of your thoughts.

Pretty deep, huh?

Take a minute to contemplate that.

Since we create our reality with our thoughts, whatever is going on or not going on in your life right now is a result of your thoughts.

If you feel you don’t have enough money, what have you been thinking? “I don’t have enough money!” or “My debt is too high!” or “I’ll never make what I want!” If you’ve had any of those thoughts or something similar, then that is why you don’t have the money you’d like and/or you have too much debt.

Want a new partner in your life but he/she hasn’t shown up yet? What are you thinking about that? Are you noticing he’s not here yet? Are you complaining to all your friends about not having a boyfriend? Are you worried you’ll be single forever?  The more you think and talk about that, the more he won’t show up because all you’re putting out there are thoughts of not having a partner.

The more we think or talk about what we don’t have (or what we do have but don’t want) we are blocking the universe from bringing us what we do want.

It’s like going through the drive thru and saying you don’t want a burger, or chicken nuggets or fries or a chicken sandwich. The guy on the other end is probably thinking, “Ok, then, what DO you want?” How can he fill your order if you don’t tell him what you want? You keep talking about everything you don’t want, so how can the universe know what you do want?

“Welcome to the universe, can I take your order, please?”

Focus on you want a partner, not that you don’t have one. Focus on creating money, not noticing you don’t have it. Otherwise you’re back to the drive thru analogy telling the guy you don’t want a burger or chicken. They can’t place your order unless you know what you want. When you keep saying what you don’t want that confuses the drive thru guy and the universe.

The first step to get what you want is to realize you’re telling the guy at the drive thru or rather, the universe, everything you don’t want. Once you realize that, you can focus on what you do want.

Some of us lucky ones may have been taught to be positive. Typically, though, thinking positively was limited to smiling, being polite, being in a good mood, talking nicely to people. That wasn’t necessarily extended to thinking positively about what you want in life. Or if you were taught that, usually the dots weren’t connected to tell you that thinking positively about what you want is what helps you get that. That little nugget is usually left off because most people don’t know that.

Most of us Think Negatively

As a general rule most of us think negatively about what we want. We get caught up in doubt and worry. So please don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself in the doubt and worry category. You’re not alone. Most of us do it until we realize we are and then learn to stop it.

Now that you know that, look around at your life. If you don’t have what you want, start paying attention to what your thoughts are around that subject. Don’t add to it by beating yourself up that you’ve been thinking negatively. It’s ok. Now you can make a new choice.
