Ask Your Guides For Help

Many people ask me about talking to their guides since that is something that I do when I do readings. I am channeling your guides and mine. A little-known tidbit here: you have to ask for their help.

Guides can’t interfere with your life because you have free will. They could create havoc unintentionally or make a decision that you wouldn’t agree with. They could stop you from learning a lesson because they took an action for you. So many things could go wrong without meaning to. To avoid all of that, they must be asked to help. Easy to do, easy to forget. It’s worth it to ask.

The Day Didn’t Start Out So Great

Recently I had to get my driver’s license renewed because I’d had too many years of renewing online. A few months before I went to the eye doctor to ensure that I could pass the eye exam with no glasses. Thankfully, my distance vision is still plenty good. The doctor reassured me that I’d have no problems passing the test. My vision could be a bit worse and I’d still pass based on their standard.

When the appointment day came, I was nervous, mainly because I was needlessly worried about the vision test. Add on top of that, it was a high energy day for the Universe so I was really ramped up.

It turned out to be one of those comedy of error days. Thankfully I was up early because I noticed the reminder email from DPS [Department of Public Safety] came in late the night before. I was convinced my appointment was early afternoon so when I saw the time was actually morning, I went into high gear.

To prepare I clicked on a link in the email. Not having had to go into the office in person for over ten years, I wasn’t aware of what the new requirements would be to renew my license. In the “old days” you just brought in your expiring one and got a new one. Not now. New times, new rules.

Needless Bungling

Because I was so nervous I wasn’t paying attention to what the link said. It took me to a very long list of supporting documents that I’d need to prove that I am who I am and live where I say I do. Now it was full on panic mode. I started rummaging around my office to find what they wanted. My husband had some of the items so I called him at work. No answer. Darn! Add to my stress. Keep looking.

After one and a half hours of scouring my office, I came up with enough items to meet their requirements. Now it was time to go.

The whole way there I was still nervous. So, what did I do? I asked my guides to help me get through this, it will go smoothly and I will leave DPS with my renewed license. That helped calm me down. Until I got to the location. It was wrong! I entered the address into my GPS from the physical paper they had sent me. The address was wrong! How could this be?

Now I’m sitting in the parking lot of the wrong destination with about 20 minutes until appointment time. All over their documentation it states if you’re late, you’ve forfeited your appointment. I’m never late. Add that to my anxiety.

Finally, I look up their reminder email on my phone only to see a link for directions. Yep, should’ve clicked on that first, but I didn’t. Thankfully the correct location was just around the corner. While I made it on time with a few minutes to spare, I was clearly discombobulated!

Once I got checked in and settled an announcement was made that their system was down so there are delays. Now I figure I’ll be there til sometime after lunch! Oh, well. At least I have my two documents, right? A DPS agent came around to inquire if we had the correct documentation. From that I learned I only needed a birth certificate or unexpired Passport. Whew! I had that. Needless effort wasted that added to my stress! My bad.

Help Was on the Way!

Now it’s my turn. I hand the lady my form, pay my fee, get my photo taken and thought I dodged the bullet of the eye test. Nope, now it’s time for that. They save that for last – after you’ve paid your renewal fee!

It was super windy that day so my eyes were blurry from that plus allergies. Today was not the day for that! To counteract that I put in eye drops while waiting. Didn’t help. First, I covered up my left eye to read the chart. I think I got 2 out of 5 correct! Oops. Not good. She felt sorry for me I guess and was super nice so she suggested I do the other eye. Score! I got 5 out of 5 with my left eye. I know both eyes are good enough to pass the test per my eye doctor but the right eye wasn’t cooperating very well today!

After acing the left eye, the super nice lady suggested I repeat the right eye. In the doctor’s office they would switch out the letters so that you can’t cheat. Since DPS seems to have only one paper eye chart, she couldn’t switch them out but I forgot what they were anyway due to nerves! Now I reversed only two letters so she helpfully suggested that I mixed them up. I was sweating bullets here! Thankfully with a giggle and a smile she passed me!

You don’t know how relieved I was! I know how hard these appointments are to come by. I really did not want to return later. I really did not want to be forced to get glasses that I really don’t need. Instead of focusing on what could go wrong, the entire way there I talked to my guides, asking for their help and reassuring myself it will all work out, I will get my license successfully renewed.

Was it Me or My Guides?

With so many errors and mishaps not to mention my super nervous energy, you would think it’d have gone south. It reminded me of that movie, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day where everything went wrong. Since I really did not want it to go badly, I pulled out all the stops – think positive and talk to my guides! With most things I don’t get so nervous or worry about them turning out ok. This had so much riding on it in my mind so I was more nervous than usual. So, bring in the big guns. Plus being a high energy day I was swimming upstream already because it added to my nervousness.

You could say this turned out ok because I ended up finding the correct address and went to the correct location on time. Or that I did have the correct documents. Or that I got lucky with a really nice DPS agent who did me a solid. Or because I calmed myself down with positive thoughts the entire way. That’s all true.

Had I not stayed calm I might not have thought about checking my email to get the correct link. Yes, I’m old school so that’s not my first thought. Had I not asked for higher assistance I might not have gotten such an empathetic agent. Things could have gone wrong, but they didn’t.

I’m going to chalk it up to my guides. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I bet you have a similar story that you could attest to. Just remember, ASK your guides for help. They can’t help if you don’t ask!
